Fundraiser Held for Children of 2 Crash Victims

Family and friends of Amy and Lance Heath gathered in Alpine on Saturday for a special fundraiser to raise money for the couples two teenaged boys.

The special cut-a-thon was held at the Studio B Salon, where Amy Heath worked before she was killed.

The Heaths were two of five people killed in a horrible motorcycle accident on Nov 13 near Ocotillo. The couple was on an excursion with their Lakeside motorcycle club, the Saddletramps.

They were with a group of 21 motorcyclists who were traveling down Route 98 towards Mexicali, when an oncoming car that was trying to avoid another vehicle hit their group. The crash left five dead, including fellow Saddletramps Tonya Trayer and Bill Miller. The crash left several others critically injured.

The couple was laid to rest on Nov 20. Friends say the Heaths were college sweethearts. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be placed into a trust for the couple's children.
