Fuel Spill in Rancho Penasquitos

Fire officials said 200 to 300 gallons of fuel spilled down a storm drain

Officials from the Hazardous Materials Division (Hazmat) of San Diego County were called to Rancho Penasquitos Thursday to investigate a large fuel spill, authorities confirmed.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) said 200 gallons of fuel spilled from a generator in the 9100 block of Oviedo Street just before noon. Some of the fuel made its way down a nearby storm drain, but officials were able to stop the spill by 12:20 p.m.

No injuries were reported. No further details were immediately available.
