Foul Odor Prompts School Evacuation

Students were evacuated from Scripps Ranch High School Thursday after an odor of natural gas filled the air near the campus.

Hundreds of students filled the baseball fields around 11:00 a.m. when the school alerted teachers to evacuate their classrooms.

A San Diego Fire and Rescue spokesperson reported that fire crews searched the area along Treena Street and could not find a leak.

Students were told to return to class within 30 minutes.
