Forecast: Hottest Day of the Year

Grab shorts or a sundress. San Diego could see the hottest temperatures of the year Tuesday.

The forecast calls for high 80s along the coast. Perfect beach weather in this first week of May.

Look for sunshine, very dry air and highs in the mid and upper 90s inland. In the mountains we'll see low 70s and low 90s in the deserts said local forecaster Whitney Southwick.

Although the warm weather is a nice at the beach, when temperatures heat up it's also a very serious reminder about the dangers of wildfire.

The Santa Ana winds should not be nearly as strong as yesterday but it will be just as hot if not even a few degrees hotter in some areas.
