Fire Reported in Baja Calif., Near Border

Firefighters are responding to a vegetation fire in Tecate, Mexico, near the San Diego border, according to Cal Fire.

At approximately 12 p.m. fire ground crews were deployed to fight the vegetation fire, according to the report.

The fire has since grown to one acre, according to Cal Fire.

The fire is reported to have a slow rate of spread, but air resources that were previously cancelled have been deployed.

Firefighters have been on alert for wildfires due to Santa Ana winds, and a heat warning is in effect in San Diego County until Tuesday.
