Crews Extinguish Fire Burning Near Lake Murray

Firefighters attacked a small brush fire near Lake Murray by land and air Tuesday afternoon.

The fire sparked near 6955 Elaine Way and the dam on the south end of the lake, and was estimated at less than an acre in size.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) said the fire's forward rate of spread was stopped at around 5 p.m., and said it was put out at around 6 p.m.

One home was threatened, SDFD said. No injuries were reported.
