Fire Burning in Otay Mesa

CAL Fire has named the blaze "Harvest Fire"

A brush fire burned in Otay Mesa Friday afternoon, according to CAL Fire.

The blaze began at the end of Alta Road near Donovan Correctional Facility.

CAL Fire is sending crews and an aircraft to fight the flames. They named the blaze "Harvest Fire." San Diego Fire Rescue also sent a strike team to assist. 

The fire grew to 120 acres and was wind driven, according to CAL Fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire and are currently mopping up the area. No damage was reported.

California Highway Patrol closed Otay Mesa Road between Sanyo Road and Alta Road for an hour while crews fought the flames.
