A woman who walked in on a teenage boy inside her home Tuesday was stabbed to death.
Alta Castillo, 45, lived on the 4000 block of Highland Avenue in the Teralta East community, a residential neighborhood near City Heights.
After responding to a radio call about two women being stabbed, police found Castillo in the side yard of her residence.
She had stab wounds to her upper torso. Castillo was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A second stab victim, an acquaintance of Castillo’s who tried to help her, was found in the same side yard. She was treated at the hospital and released.
Castillo walked in on the suspect, a 17 year-old boy, inside her home and a struggle ensued ending with both women stabbed and left in the side yard, according to San Diego police.
Since the suspect is a juvenile his name is not being released at this time.
