Ed. -  At an arraignment on Feb. 29, prosecutors declined to press charges against Renaldo Torres in connection with this incident.

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal assault Saturday morning outside a Mira Mesa 7-Eleven store.

Renaldo Torres, 26, allegedly punched his 39-year-old friend during a dispute over a taxi cab fare at about 2 a.m. on the 8200 block of Gold Coast Drive.

An autopsy has yet to determine the cause of death.

The victim's name has not been released, pending family notification.
