A 27-year-old San Diego mother of two was last heard from on New Year’s Eve and her family is desperate for any information.
Alejandra Carrion Gutierrez was left her San Ysidro apartment at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 30 to meet her boyfriend at his house in Fontana, just west of San Bernardino, her family said Thursday.
On Jan. 10, Gutierrez’s beige Mini Cooper was found at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Laurel Ave. in Fontana. However, she was nowhere to be found.
"We don’t know where she is at,” said cousin Elvia Toris. “She's never done something like this before. She’s never left her kids and not given a phone call. That’s why we are very, very worried.”
Gutierrez’s sister Maricela spoke with NBC 7 Thursday, sharing text messages sent to and from Gutierrez phone on Dec. 30.
One text to the young mother's babysitter said Gutierrez had arrived in Fontana just after midnight, according to a picture of a text conversation shown to NBC 7.

Relatives said subsequent texts talking about getting money and running into someone’s father did not sound like Gutierrez.
She did not respond to a text asking if everything was all right.
Family members reported her missing on January 2, according to the Fontana Police Department.
As they search for her, the family is trying to keep Gutierrez’s two children calm. Her daughter celebrated her fourth birthday without her mother.
“So she wouldn’t feel such a void, we made a big cake to distract her,” said Maricela.
Gutierrez stands 4-feet-11-inches, weighs 140 pounds and has braces on her teeth. She was last seen wearing jeans, a burgundy vest and brown boots.
Fontana police said this is still an active investigation. Detectives have interviewed her family members and everyone has been cooperative, they said. They have not identified a suspect at this time.
