Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another who held a family hostage during a violent home invasion in Spring Valley Friday evening.
The crime happened on the 1000 block of Gillespie Drive around 5:40 p.m.
“It is kind of frightening when someone comes into your house, and there’s two men that has two pistols in their hand,” a victim named Edward told NBC 7.
Edward is still rattled but said he’s thankful to be alive after the two men burst into his family's home.
His two young nephews were forced to witness a family member get pistol whipped and robbed before the suspects fled.
“It’s trauma, trauma for the kids, my two little nephews. They were crying and seen everything that was happening,” he explained.
The suspects took off in stolen pick-up truck from Chula Vista then ditched it about a mile from the scene of the home invasion, according to Sheriff's investigators.

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Juan Vizcarra after a yard-to-yard search with the help of a K-9. The other suspect got away.
Edward said he believes his cousin’s car fixing business may have led to a targeted attack.
“These two guys, I don’t know if they know him or not, but they came over here to rob him,” he said.
Fortunately no one in the family was seriously hurt, but since the attack they have decided to move.
