An 89-year-old Fallbrook man found floating Friday in a Cathedral City community Jacuzzi died from “apparent drowning,” according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Edward Fredericks was pronounced dead shortly before 4:30 p.m. at the Desert Princess Country Club on the 29000 block of W. Laguna Drive.
His wife found him floating in the water, Cathedral City police said.
Fredericks had recently undergone back surgery and was performing doctor-recommended exercises before his death, police said.
