FBI Searches for Clairemont Bank Robbery Suspect

The FBI is calling on the public to help them catch the man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Clairemont. 

The man acted alone to rob the bank located at 5222 Balboa Ave. just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to the FBI. 

The approximately 6-foot tall man in his 60s man walked up to a window and showed the teller a note that demanded money. 

The teller handed the man an undisclosed sum of cash and the man took off, the FBI said. 

It did not appear that he had a weapon. 

The man was wearing a white visor, sunglasses and a light blue long sleeve shirt at the time of the robbery, according to the FBI.

The bureau asks anyone with information on the suspect to contact their department at (858) 320-1800 or San Diego Crimestoppers at (888) 580-8477.

Both the FBI and the San Diego Violent Crimes Task Force are investigating the robbery.
