FBI: Bank Robber Made Getaway In Jaguar

A man who robbed a Poway bank sped off in a new luxury car just before noon Friday, according to the FBI.

The robber, who was wearing all black and a golf hat, entered the Citibank branch at 13408 Poway Road and handed a demand note to a teller, officials told the North County Times. The teller, who was unharmed but badly shaken, handed over about $2,000 in cash, officials told the paper.

The FBI said later on Friday that the robber presented a note to a teller, and when the robber left, a bank employee followed him out to the Jaguar and pursued the high-end car while calling 911. After a short time, the worker lost sight of the Jaguar, so he returned to work, where, amazingly, he saw the Jaguar again, then called the deputies back and told them where the car was.

Deputies eventually located a Jaguar on state Route 67, then chased it to Scripps Poway Parkway, where they took the suspects into custody
