Encinitas Home Targeted Twice by Burglars

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station are looking for a suspect in an attempted burglary in Encinitas.

The suspect, caught on home video surveillance, attempted to rob a house in the 2400 block of El Camino Del Norte on October 25. The suspect tried to open a door, but the alarm was activated and he fled.

The home, which belongs to an elderly woman, has been burglarized before. Last May someone broke into the woman’s house while she was at her husband’s funeral. The suspects unsuccessfully attempted  to steal a safe.

The suspect is described as 35 to 45 years old, 6’2”, with brown wavy hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing thick, wrap-around sunglasses, a green short-sleeved shirt and khaki cargo pants.
