A plane had a rough landing in Gillespie Field in El Cajon this morning, according to El Cajon Fire Department.
A pilot flying an experimental plane conducted an emergency landing after the engine caught fire. The pilot landed safely and walked away unharmed.
El Cajon Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The plane was removed from the field and the airport has reopened.
Federal Aviation Administration will be notified of the incident.
