School lockdowns are difficult enough, but going hours without a bathroom can make the situation that much more challenging.
In light of recent local school lockdowns the issue of student and teacher comfort when they must stay in classrooms for extended periods of time has come into question.
According to the San Diego Unified School District they are intending to buy emergency bathroom kits for every classroom that needs one. Some classrooms already have a bathroom attached and some classrooms have already purchased their own kit.
They also intend to provide kits in areas besides classrooms without direct access to bathrooms such as offices or libraries.
According to the School district they are about a month away from distributing kits to classrooms and it will cost approximately $200,000 to outfit all classrooms within the district.
