A Fletcher Hills man came home to find a burglar rifling through his things Thursday afternoon, El Cajon police say.
The victim said he confronted the male suspect inside his home at about 12:30 p.m. The suspect responded by threatening him with a knife, though police say no weapon was seen.
The burglar then ran out of the house and was last seen hopping yard fences in the 2400 block of Chatham Street.
El Cajon police established a search perimeter when they arrived, but after an extensive search with the CHP's K-9 unit and the sheriff's helicopter, they came up empty-handed.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned man in his 30s with a muscular build, wearing jeans and no shirt.
