Two men were arrested overnight after a high speed chase with officers, police said.
The San Diego Police Department got a call at 1:05 a.m. that someone had stolen a car downtown and police chased him to National City.
The suspect spun out on the freeway on the northbound Interstate 5 approaching Interstate 15.
Officials used fire equipment to get the suspect out of the car before they arrested him.
The man suffered minor injuries.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence. A passenger was also arrested.
The California Highway Patrol also responded to the incident.
