Drunk Driving Down

Authorities say they arrested fewer people in San Diego County on suspicion of drunk driving over the Thanksgiving holiday this year than last.

The California Highway Patrol says officers made 32 arrests in the county, down from 46 during the same period a year ago.

No fatalities were reported this year.

A highway patrol officer says arrests may have declined because there were fewer drunk drivers or because officers shifted their focus to traffic accidents caused by inclement weather.
