Driver Hits 2 Pedestrians, Arrested for DUI in Pacific Beach: SDPD

A 49-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence after police say he struck two pedestrians at a crosswalk in Pacific Beach Saturday evening.

The female pedestrians, a 30-year-old and 25-year-old, were crossing Mission Bl at Hornblend Street using a crosswalk at about 8:20 p.m., said Officer David Stafford of San Diego police.

As the two women crossed, they were struck by an unidentified male driving a Jeep Cherokee, Stafford said.

The incident left the 25-year-old with cuts and bruises and 30-year-old woman suffered a fractured femur and broken knee, according to a report.

Both women were hospitlized.

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was arrested and booked on a felony charge of driving under the influence.

The SDPD Traffic Unit was investigating the incident.
