Driver Flees Scene After High-Speed Pursuit

Passenger was arrested, male driver is on the loose

A driver involved in a high-speed pursuit Monday morning fled the scene after police managed to stop the vehicle in the Normal Heights area.

Police say the driver was pulled over as part of a routine traffic stop around 11 a.m., which is when he fled from officials.

The chase ended about 10 minutes later in the 4500 block of Swift Avenue. The male driver escaped on foot.

The female passenger was taken into custody and was seen crying as she was handcuffed.
