Don't Leave Your Drugs on the Doorstep

Don't believe anyone offering to pick up your old prescriptions. It's a scam according to San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore.

Prescription Take Back Day is a real thing. It's being held at six locations around the county on Sat., April 17. However, it appears some thieves are taking advantage of the opportunity and telling residents in Rancho Bernardo that they can just leave their drugs on the front porch and someone will be by to pick them up.

"That's simply not true," Sheriff Gore said Friday in a news release.

The county is working on getting prescription drug drop boxes at several sheriff's facilities but in the mean time, you can stop by one of the locations Saturday to properly dispose of your old medicine. Personnel will be available to take these drugs with no questions asked.
