Donald Trump Holds Fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe

Presumptive GOP candidate Donald Trump was in San Diego on Wednesday for a fundraiser at a private dinner.

Trump landed at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad around 5:30 p.m. and was escorted by police to Rancho Santa Fe.

The fundraiser, a private dinner, was hosted by diet tycoon Jenny Craig. The price of dinner for one ranged from $25,000 to $150,000.

Among those attending the dinner are Madeleine Pickens, owner of the Del Mar Country Club, the former owner of the union tribune, Doug and Geniya Manchester and Carol and Doug Kimmelman.

A man who attended the fundraiser told NBC 7 what Donald Trump spoke about during the dinner.

“Just trying to make America great again. That it’s great we have civil discourse and that we can all have an opportunity to express our feelings. It’s really wonderful,” he said.

Outside the venue, there were only a handful of supporters waiting to see Trump.

As Trump was leaving, a 15-year old boy who lives nearby told NBC 7 it was an experience he won’t forget anytime soon.

“I waved also when he came here but he didn’t wave back but this time in passing, he was ahead of me and gave me a half wave,” William Alter said.

But not all San Diegans were happy about have the GOP candidate in town, expressing their anger on Twitter.

Wednesday evening, Trump posted on Twitter that he will announce his pick for Vice President on Friday.
