Dog Thrown From Roof Needs Home

A 3-month-old puppy that was kicked and thrown from the roof of a home in San Diego is looking for a new home.

Radiographs of the German shepherd /Chow Chow mix named β€œAlmondβ€œ showed multiple fractures, according to Lt. Dan Desousa of the San Diego County Department of Animal Services.

β€œThey also showed previously healed fractures, indicating that the dog had been abused before,” said Lt. Desousa. β€œAlmond underwent extensive orthopedic surgery and requires physical therapy.”

A second puppy, named β€œJoy”, was rescued from the home and also had previously healed fractures.

22-year-old Edgar Rodriguez was arrested by Animal Control Officers and pled guilty to one count of felony animal abuse on August 4. His sentencing is scheduled for September 15.
