Disneyland Worker Struck on Space Mountain Coaster: Report

A Disneyland worker was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a Space Mountain roller coaster last week according to a published report.

The 68-year-old machinist remains in a critical-care unit The Orange County Register reports.

He suffered head, chest and back injuries as he worked on the ride on Oct. 3 according to the paper.

The ride vehicles can reach 30 mph.

Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown says the ride didn't malfunction and was back in operation the next day.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the accident.
