Blood Trail in PB Leads to Slain Man

Police say they found marijuana in house where man was stabbed

A man in Pacific Beach was stabbed to death Wednesday morning. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the San Diego Police Department.

A friend of the 23-year-old victim called police after finding him on 868 Emerald St. at about 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. The victim, whose name has not been released, grew up in the Bird rock area and graduated from La Jolla High School.

Police followed a blood trail from there to a home in the 4600 block of Bayard St. Inside, they found a woman and two men who claimed the victim had climbed through their window a short time earlier. The victim was wearing a mask, carrying a gun and demanding marijuana, according to an officer on scene.

A fight broke out between the masked man and the three individuals in the house.

One of the three individuals in the house stabbed the masked man. He then fled the scene and called his friend. The friend later found him dead in the house on Emerald St. and called police.

Upon further investigation, police also found marijuana growing inside the house on Baynard St.

Homicide detectives will investigate the scene.
