A missing 13-year-old Vista girl was found safe Friday night after the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department launched a search for the teen.
According to officials, the girl failed to come home from school. For several hours, deputies honed in on the Vista area, specifically near Rancho Buena Vista High School and surrounding neighborhoods, in search of the girl.
Patrol units canvassed Vista both by ground and air.
One Vista resident told NBC 7 helicopters could be seen and heard over the area. Crews gave a brief description of the girl over the loudspeaker and asked anyone with information to contact deputies.
By 10:15 p.m., officials confirmed she had been found safely and reunited with her family. No further details were released.
