An Oceanside man, who killed his wife in front of their 3-year-old toddler, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Jose Luis Orozco was sentenced Thursday for the murder of his wife, Beatriz Orozco, 24, in 2008. He stabbed his wife more than 50 times in the kitchen of their home in the 4100-block of Alabar Way, the North County Times reports.
The boy told police "Daddy killed Mommy," and "I'm scared," according to a court document obtained by the paper.
Prosecutors say she was having an affair and had told Orozco that she was leaving him just before the attack. The woman's boyfriend saw the attack through a window and called 911, the paper said.
Last August, Orozco pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, felony child abuse and various other charges stemming from the attack the paper said.
