Courage Under Fire

The Navy awards Silver and Bronze Stars.

Even though they are the recipents of the Silver Star, one of the Navy's highest honors for showing bravery and courage under fire, Chief Petty Officer Gerardo Sosa and Navy Seal Joseph Molina don't see themselves as heroes.

"We train really hard out there, working together "says Molina.

Sosa, an explosives ordinance technician, and Molina, a Navy Seal, were presented with the Silver Star from the Secretary of the Navy for heroic actions on the battlefield.

Molina was also presented with the Bronze Star with a Combat V.

Both men say they share the honors with their fellow servicemembers, especially those who make sacrifices everyday without getting special recognition and they say they find strength in their families.

Another Navy Seal, Jared Tuxill, was also awarded the SIlver Star.

Bronze Stars with Combat V were also presented to  Lt. Cmdr. John Green and Chief Thomas Shea, who are also Navy Seals.
