Cops Warn Women of Serial Groper

Women are being urged to walk in groups and travel in well-lighted areas on the UC San Diego campus after at least three women reported they were groped by a man over the past few weeks.

The first incident was reported Monday. A woman said she was approached from behind while walking through a eucalyptus grove near the student health center about 6 p.m.

She told campus police a man grabbed her buttock and groin area, then ran away when she screamed. Since then, two other women reported similar incidents on campus.

Police say the incidents don't appear to be linked to the on-campus sexual assault that occurred at Mesa Housing in November.
