A man was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver Sunday in Normal Heights, police said.
The victim was walking north across the 3200 block of Meade Avenue about 1:33 a.m. when he was hit, Officer Brad Ruff said. He suffered massive head injuries and died at the scene.
Witnesses said the vehicle sped away and described it as a newer white hatchback.
The victim's name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
No arrests have been made.
