Cops: Bandit Tied Up Woman, Robbed Her

A thief followed a Tierrasanta woman into her home, put a knife to her throat, then bound and robbed her, authorities reported.

The bandit attacked the victim about 5 p.m. Friday, as she was returning to her Camino Playa de Oro residence from an outing to a relative's automotive business to pick up some cash, according to San Diego police.

After threatening the woman with a knife, the robber -- a roughly 5-foot-6-inch man in workout clothes -- pushed her to the floor, used a plastic zip tie to bind her wrists, grabbed her purse and fled, SDPD Sgt. Rich Nemetz said.

No injuries were reported.
