Conan O'Brien to Return to San Diego Comic-Con International

For the second year, the late-night host will tape his talk show from the Spreckels Theater in downtown San Diego amid the frenzy of Comic-Con

Late-night funnyman Conan O’Brien plans to return to San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC) this month, hosting his talk show from downtown San Diego as the four-day pop culture convention unfolds.

From July 20 through July 23, O’Brien will tape his TBS show at the historic Spreckels Theater on Broadway – the same venue he took over last summer during Comic-Con.

Last year, O’Brien dubbed his visit to America’s Finest City “Conan Con,” and brought in a slew of high-profile celebrities to the tapings, including actress Jennifer Lawrence and her “Hunger Games” co-stars, as well as the cast of “Game of Thrones.”

For four days, fans lined up outside Spreckels Theater hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars and, of course, snag a selfie with O’Brien.

Now, Conan Con will ride again.

On Wednesday night, O’Brien’s camp announced that free tickets to the “Conan at Comic-Con” tapings were now available to those who have a badge for Comic-Con.

Comic-Con attendees can register online to be placed on a wait list for the tickets. As of Thursday morning, only tickets to the July 20 and July 21 tapings were available, as the July 22 and July 23 tapings were sold out.

O’Brien’s show will also make a very limited number of standby tickets available on the day of each taping. Those will be made available just before show time each day if there are any empty seats to fill in the theater. Most of these seats will be single seats throughout the venue. For those standby passes, fans can go to the Team Coco Ticket Space at 969 1st Avenue at 8 a.m. on the morning of the taping they’d like to attend.

There, wristbands will be distributed and hopefuls will be given details on a location and time to return to see if they will be getting into the taping.

For now, O’Brien’s celebrity guests for his Comic-Con tapings are unknown but if it’s anything like last year, some very recognizable stars will walk through those doors at Spreckels Theater, ready to nerd out with Coco.

SDCC runs July 20 through July 24 at the San Diego Convention Center.
