Computer Glitch Temporarily Halts Food Stamps

San Diego county provides food stamps to 257,000 people

A computer problem left thousands of food stamp recipients across the state without funds last weekend.

San Diego county officials said around 17,000 people were impacted by the computer failure over the weekend, that erased the credits on Electronic Benefit Transfer cards.

After fixing the glitch, people can now cash in on their credits again. Some of the people impacted were issued new cards.
