Community Transforms Unsightly Building

Chula Vista building gets a makeover by Feaster Elementary students and staff

After a years of graffiti issues, a Chula Vista school initiated a creative solution to solve a tagging problem. Volunteers from Mae L. Feaster Charter School constructed a mural on the Rent A Wheel building at the corner of Broadway and Flower Street.

A city-provided grant allowed the students and staff of Feaster Elementary to afford the drastic makeover. After repainting, the Chula Vista Elementary School District has dubbed it the “Community Pride” mural, which provided a space local art and beautified a building.

A video was created to capture the artistic reclamation of the space and now Chula Vista residents can view community artwork any time they walk down the road.
