Drivers on Interstate 805 will have to use detours while Caltrans crews work on construction projects near the Golden Triangle area

Drivers using northbound and southbound Interstate 805 at the Golden Triangle over the weekend and next week will be detoured, as Caltrans crews install guardrails and traffic monitoring systems.

Northbound I-805 will be closed at Sorrento Valley Road and the Vista Sorrento Parkway off-ramp from 9:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday.

During the closure, crews will be installing new guardrails, according to information released by Caltrans. Drivers will be detoured to the Mira Mesa Boulevard and Vista Sorrento Parkway off-ramp.

There will be additional closures on northbound I-805 from La Jolla Village Drive and Miramar Road to Interstate 5. This road closure is set for next Monday and Tuesday nights from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Crews will redirect drivers to westbound State Route 52 and northbound I-5. Traffic will be allowed to exit at Governor and Nobel drives.

On Wednesday night, southbound I-805 will close from I-5 to SR-52 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., while Caltrans works to install traffic monitoring systems. An alternative route will be offered for drivers on southbound I-5 to eastbound SR-52 and to I-805.
