Clifford the Rescue Dog Ready for Adoption

After his rescue from an 80-foot fall, the three-month Chihuahua needs a home

Clifford, the dog rescued earlier this month after falling more than 80 feet down a cliff, is ready for adoption.

The three-month-old Chihuahua fell near Ladera Street at Sunset Cliffs on Jan. 11.

The dog didn't have any identification tags when lifeguards rescued him from the sand and rock at the bottom of the cliff.

Now that Clifford is ready to be placed into a permanent home, the county's Department of Animal Services is accepting applications until Saturday, Feb. 2.

Fill out an application or get more information on the county's website. Applications found under "Special Adoption Application" can be printed from the website and faxed to (619) 767-2706 or mailed to the Department of Animal Services at 5480 Gaines St., San Diego, CA 92110, with the words Attention: Clifford Adoption.

The forms can also be delivered to any of the three County animal shelters.

The fee to become Clifford's new owner is $69.
