Suspect Sought in Chula Vista Shooting

Chula Vista police released a photo of the suspect Terrell Anthony Spain

Chula Vista police are looking for a man wanted for shooting a couple in an Otay Ranch home early Wednesday.

Officers were called to the cul-de-sac on Padding River Road around 5 a.m. after a 24-year-old woman reported that she and her boyfriend had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found the woman outside a neighbor's home. A man was inside the home with a gunshot wound to the face according to Chula Vista Lt. Buddy Magor.

The woman told officers her ex-boyfriend entered the home without her knowledge and opened fire on the couple while they were sleeping.

Officers identified the suspect as Terrell Anthony Spain, 29.

Investigators recovered the suspect's car, a 1995 faded green Acura Legend, but are still looking for Spain.

He's said to be armed and dangerous.

Antonio Steele, the woman’s brother, told NBCSanDiego his 5-year-old niece also lives at the home. He said he believes the girl was not at home at the time of the shooting.

The victims were taken to Scripps Hospital for treatment of what officers are calling non-life-threatening injuries.

There were two other adults in the home at the time who told police they were unaware of the shooting.
