Family and friends were on hand Monday, September 8 to greet returning sailors who deployed five months ago aboard USS Jarrett.
The Jarrett deployed with Destroyer Squadron 1 for operations in Asia in a task force that included USS Tortuga and USS Ford. The sailors aboard the ship visited six nations, including Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Well-wishers waved signs and cheered as their loved ones came into view at Naval Base San Diego shortly after 9 a.m.
The Jarrett is a guided-missile frigate.
