Chargers Sign Liuget to 5-Year Deal Worth $50 Million

Defensive end Corey Liuget signed a new deal on Tuesday to stay with the Chargers for the next five years.

The contract is worth $50 million, of which $30 million is guaranteed.

β€œI’m still at a loss for words,” he said. β€œI still don’t know the feelings I’m getting. I’m hot, I’m cold sometimes. My stomach hurts, my head hurts. So I’m having mixed emotions right now. But overall it feels good to finally have this thing done and know for a fact I’ll be in San Diego for a bit longer and have a pretty good chance at winning a championship and bringing this city its first title.”

Liuget was a first-round draft pick in 2011.

The 25-year-old has started 61 of a possible 64 games for the Bolts.
