Chargers Release Linebacker

Bolts cut ties with Reggie Walker

The Chargers released linebacker Reggie Walker on Friday. Walker signed with the Bolts before the 2013 season and appeared in all 16 games with six starts, but injuries held him to 11 games with no starts last year.

Walker was one of the more versatile players on San Diego's linebacker corps. He was able to play both inside and outside in the team's 3-4 scheme.

The move will save the Chargers $1 million against the salary cap for the 2015 season.

The move pretty much guarantees the Bolts will be adding more linebackers. Dwight Freeney says he wants to play again, but it might not be in San Diego. Andrew Gachkar is also a free agent, so the Chargers currently have just six players on the roster who have played linebacker in an NFL game.

Feel free to adjust your mock drafts accordingly.
