Chargers Release Celebratory Wine

For the first time in the Chargers' history, the team released a limited-edition wine bearing the Chargers name.

“We think our fans will enjoy having a bottle of Chargers Legacy wine for any occasion as well as on game days,” said Chargers Executive Vice President and CEO A.G. Spanos.  “We want nothing but the best for our fans.”

The Chargers partnered with veteran winemaker Anthony Bell of Napa Valley’s Bell Wine Cellars to create a Cabernet Sauvignon.

“Producing a special wine like Chargers Legacy is similar to winning football games,” Bell said.  “It’s a team effort that requires patience, determination, a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and great talent.”

The Chargers Legacy 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon consists of a blend of 80 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 7 percent Petit Verdot, 4 percent Merlot, 4 percent Syrah, 4 percent Petite Sirah and  2 percent Malbec.

A bottle retails for about $25 and is available for purchase online, at select retailers and grocery stores in the San Diego area and during home games at Qualcomm Stadium.
