Chargers Add A Defensive Lineman

Bolts sign another former Denver Bronco

After landing free agent prize Orlando Franklin last week, the Chargers went back to Denver for another big man.

San Diego signed former Broncos defensive lineman Mitch Unrein to a 2-year contract on Wednesday. Unrein spent most of the 2010 season on Denver's practice squad, and over the last four seasons he's played in 54 games with three starts.

At 6'4", 306 pounds, he's primarily a tackle, playing the interior line. His addition gives the Chargers more linemen on the roster than they do linebackers, a curious abnormality for a team that's supposed to be running a 3-4 defense.
