Store Owner Pepper Sprayed in Robbery

Cell phones stolen in San Ysidro

A question about cell phones turned into a robbery Friday afternoon at a south San Diego County communications store.

Four male suspects asked the store owner about his merchandise, and then one suspect pepper sprayed him in the face. The group then took four stolen boxes of cell phones at about 1:30 p.m. and ran from All American Communications on the 4100 block of Beyer Boulevard in San Ysidro.

The owner was not injured in the incident.

All suspects were described as between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8. One was wearing a captain's boater hat, dark colored jacket and dark plaid shorts. Another wore a red T-shirt and unknown-colored pants, police said.

No description was available on the other two suspects.
