Missing Teen Found by Good Samaritan: Cops

The teenager missing for more than two weeks was found walking down a street in Temecula.

An at-risk Carlsbad teenager missing for more than two weeks was found late Wednesday walking along a Temecula street.

Christine Jelinek, 17, left her home on Jan. 4 and made no contact with her family.

Her parents made a public plea for help and the National Center for Missing Children activated a case to help in the search.

On Wednesday, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Jelinek had been found in Temecula by someone who recognized her from a flyer.

"Christine was walking down the road with others to a location where she could get breakfast," said Carlsbad police Detective Sergeant Steve Thomas.

Jelinek was found to be in good health and is in the process of being reunited with her family.

A man originally wanted for questioning in the case is no longer being sought by police.
