Carlsbad police investigators are looking into the shooting deaths of an elderly couple as a possible murder-suicide.
Lt. Matt Magro says the Warren Calvin Mingus, 90, and Emma Brunton Mingus, 88, were found with gunshot wounds inside their home on New Year's Day.
Magro says the deaths are being treated as a homicide and the investigation is ongoing.
An unidentified family acquaintance alerted police, mentioning the couple had medical issues.
