Carlsbad Commercial Building Catches Fire

A fire broke out at a commercial building in Carlsbad Wednesday evening, officials confirmed.

The blaze sparked around 6:45 p.m. at a two-story building in a business park located at 2051 Palomar Airport Rd., near the Palomar Airport.

Officials said that when firefighters arrived at the scene, they had a hard time locating the fire due to the large size of the building. Crews requested a second-alarm response for back-up due to the accessibility issues.

Shortly thereafter, crews located the fire in a room filled with industrial equipment. The blaze was contained and quickly extinguished before it could spread any further to the rest of the building.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
