A boy was hospitalized Tuesday after an SUV slammed into an apartment building in Chula Vista.
Fernando Torres Hernandez told NBC 7 he and his nine-year-old brother were asleep in bunk beds when the car came through their bedroom at the apartment complex on Woodlawn Avenue just off of H Street at about 8:05 a.m.
"I was scared but the glass broke, it shattered. I was scared it might get on my brother. And luckily it didn’t," Hernandez said.
Medics transported the nine-year-old to a nearby hospital at the request of his father. He is expected to be OK, the family said. No one else was injured.
