Benz Plunges Into Mission Bay

The vehicle carrying a single occupant drove off the De Anza Cove boat launch around 10 p.m.

A Mercedes Benz plunged off the De Anza Cove boat launch and right into the water in Mission Bay Wednesday night, according to lifeguards.

Lifeguards said the incident happened just before 10 p.m. The vehicle was fully submerged in the water.

The car was carrying one occupant who was luckily able to get out safely, according to authorities.

A tow truck was requested to assist lifeguards in getting the vehicle out of the water.

No information has been released on what may have caused the accident.
